It feels a bit morbid but my Mother had a open heart surgery last year and my Mother-in-Law is in hospital with heart problems as well so it has got me thinking a lot about me and my husbands health and what might happen if we were unwell and it was left to the children to pay for our care. I have been thinking about Long-term care insurance and whether it would be a good option to protect the children from any potential expenses that they might have to pay in the future. It does seem unfair that we may have to either spend their inheritance or ask them to help us out with medical and care costs. I have found a site with some Consumer Reports Long Term Care Insurance which has been really useful and allowed me to decide whether it is worth me taking out such a policy or not. I have also got some Long Term Care Insurance Quotes on line and will now spend some time assessing all of the information available to me and see whether I think that it is a good option for us or whether we need to think of a different way to get some money together in case we need it for these purposes.
